Website cost estimator
Enter a domain. Get the host, registrar, DNS, email, CDN and third-party tools behind it, an SPF/DMARC grade, and what the whole stack roughly costs to run for a year. Paste several for a table, two for a side-by-side.
URLs and email addresses work too — the domain is pulled out. Users only change the mailbox line; visitors scale hosting and CDN lines.
Where the money could go instead
Based on what was detected. Savings are per year against the typical figure.
Yearly cost breakdown
List prices for the detected providers, rounded. Lean assumes the cheapest realistic plan, upper the next tier up. Hosting and CDN lines scale with the visitor tier you picked.

How the host is detected
The domain is resolved, the IP owner is looked up through RDAP, and the HTTP headers and HTML are scanned for platform fingerprints (Shopify, Wix, Vercel, WP Engine and so on) and third-party tools (analytics, chat, email marketing, payments). CNAME and NS records add more clues. Sites behind Cloudflare hide their origin, so the host is then inferred from what is left.
Where the registrar, dates and certificate come from
The registry's RDAP record — the modern replacement for WHOIS — and public certificate transparency logs (crt.sh). Some country-code TLDs do not publish RDAP, so the registrar stays blank for those. For a full WHOIS view use the domain lookup.
WordPress sites
When WordPress is detected the card shows the active theme (and parent, for child themes), the page builder, the version and every plugin visible in the HTML. The WordPress theme detector goes further — free, paid or custom labels, hosting and version history.
What the email grade means
A: SPF plus DMARC at p=reject. B: p=quarantine. C: DMARC present but p=none. D: SPF only. F: neither. Gmail and Yahoo require SPF and DMARC for anyone sending in volume. The email DNS setup tool generates the records.
How accurate is the yearly figure
It is an estimate from published list prices (updated 2026-09; currency rates 2026-09), not the owner's invoice. Ad spend, agency retainers, paid plugins and developer time are not included.
Privacy
Lookups are cached for an hour so repeats are instant. Unrecognised providers are counted anonymously to improve detection. Nothing else is kept.
